Derby County held Hull City to a 0-0 draw at the KComm Stadium in their Boxing Day encounter. David Nugent was denied inside the first minute and the home side had the better of the chances as the game progressed. Jan Toral twice missed good opportunities before Scott Carson denied Kamil Grosicki when through on goal to secure a point for his side.
The Rams were unchanged for their second game in four days and they made another quick start with David Nugent being denied with thirty seconds on the clock after being teed up by Matej Vydra. Jon Toral headed inches wide after being picked out by Kamil Grosicki on eight minutes but chances were at a premium as the game
progressed. Weimann went close with the only other effort of note before the break his header was well kept out by Alan McGregor.
Toral collected a backheel from Jackson Irvine before firing well over the top with only Scott Carson to beat as the second half for underway and The Rams` keeper
denied Grosicki after he was released down the left-hand side but he stood up well to palm away the Poland international`s lob.
Jarrod Bowen was next to threaten but Hector couldn`t make contact at the back post from his ball. Weimann lead one last counter attack for Derby and played in Nugent but his first-time shot was saved well at the near post and neither side could find a breakthrough before the final whistle.
