Referee:

Derby County missed another chance to make some ground back on the top six as Tom Barkhuizen`s injury time equaliser gave Preston North End a point in a 1-1 draw at Pride Park. Matej Vydra headed over in the opening stages before Johnny Russell had a shot deflected behind in a tight opening period. Vydra touched home a deflected effort from David Nugent to give The Rams the lead on fifty minutes but they sat back after that and the visitors started to build some pressure as the game entered the later stages. Four minutes into added time a long clearance from the Preston goalkeeper was flicked on and Barkhuizen beat Scott Carson to ball to give his side a share of the points.

Jacob Butterfield replaced Julien de Sart in the only change to side and Matej Vydra could have given The Rams the early lead but he headed over from Cyrus Christie`s cross in the second minute before Jordan Hugill glanced a header wide at the other end as Preston had a chance of their own. Chris Maxwell saved from Christie and Johnny Russell had an effort that dropped just the wrong side of the post after taking a deflection. Vydra shot over the top with another effort before Callum Robinson had a header disallowed for offside as the sides reached the break all square.

The Rams got there noses in front with five minutes of the second half gone when David Nugent`s run into the area ended with a deflected effort that feel nicely for Vydra to touch the ball into the net. Christie`s cross from the right just evaded Nugent`s lunge at the far post not long afterwards but Derby looked content to sit back and protect the lead as the game wore on.

Christie cleared a Paul Huntington header off the line as the minutes ticked down. With the game deep in injury Chris Baird blocked a Daryl Hogan shot before a long punt forward form Maxwell was flicked on and Tom Barkhuizen beat Scott Carson to the ball and got just enough on it to touch into the empty net to level the scores.
