Derby Come From Behind To Beat Vale

Derby County`s rich vein of goalscoring form continued as they came from behind to beat Port Vale 5-3 at Vale Park. Michael Jacobs gave The Rams the lead form the penalty spot on two minutes but the sides were level on 15 minutes when Tom Pope headed home and Chris Robertson out them ahead just before the half-hour mark as Vale exploited Derby`s vulnerability from set pieces. Pope grabbed his second before half-time to give his side the lead at the break but the visitors showed their class in the second period to eventually run out easy winners.

Michael Hoganson scored from distance five minutes into the second half and Jeff Hendrick followed suit not long afterwards to level the scores. New signing Johnny Russell came off the bench to score his third goal in pre-season and Craig Forsyth rounded out the scoring six minutes from the end to give his side a 5-3 victory.

Derby County: Grant (Legzdins, 75), Freeman (Brayford, 61), O'Connor (Keogh, 61), Gjokaj (Buxton, 61), Hoganson (Forsyth, 61), Davies (Coutts, 66), Hendrick (W Hughes, 66), Eustace (Bryson, 66), Jacobs (Ward, 66), Tyson (Martin, 66), Sammon (Russell, 66)
