Attendance: 15, 677

Late Winner For Tigers

Kieron Freeman came into the side at rightback with John Brayford moving into the centre of defence in the only change to the side from the weekend. Conor Sammon shot wide after being found by Paul Coutts inside the area in the first opportunity on eight minutes and Craig Bryson shot over the top after cutting in from the left. Jeff Hendrick then made room for himself with a neat run and flashed a low cross across the six yard box but no one could get on the end of the ball. Chances were few and far between and Robert Koren headed wide from an Ahmed Elmohamady cross on the half-hour mark with Stephen Quinn glancing a header narrowly wide on the stroke of halftime as the sides went in goalless at the break.

Hull made a double change with Nick Proschwitz and Gedo coming on and the Egyptian forward made an almost instant impact when he headed home from a Robbie Brady cross less than two minutes into the second half. David Meyler`s effort was deflected onto a post with Adam Legzdins beaten but The Rams fought back well and Jamie Ward had an effort beaten away by David Stockdale. Sammon struck the bar after being picked out by Ward and another effort from the diminutive forward stuck Sammon before rolling narrowly wide of the goal.

In a dramatic finish Ward looked to have given Derby a point when Stockdale missed a Bryson cross giving him a simple task of steering the ball into an empty net with six minutes to go but only three minutes later Elmohamady headed home from close range from a Brady corner to give his side the win. Gareth Roberts was shown a red card for a challenge on Proschwitz in the dyeing moments of the game to make things worse for his side.
