'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Darren Moore On 'Cruel' Christmas

Darren Moore on why Christmas was 'cruel' to the Rams and how Derby are becoming more resilient after yesterday's comeback against Sheffield Wednesday.

'In terms of football the Christmas period was a cruel time for us. We could have and should have got eight points. But in the final minutes of each game we let it slip through our fingertips. In the Newcastle game we were 2-1 up, but it ended 2-2. That was three points gone. After that, we were 1-1 with Liverpool until the last minute when Steven Gerrard scored. A point gone. We then lost to Blackburn, but more than deserved three points at Bolton where we lost 1-0.

'Looking back it's disappointing. Our performances are improving though, the performance and structure gets better with every game. What we can do is keep on improving our quality, as we have been, then hopefully the results will follow. We will keep banging the drum though and we believe that we can do it.'

You'd have had more from us if Mr Moore had put his header into Row Z instead of straight onto Tudgay's foot :)
