Is Ghaly right for the Rams?

Is Ghaly right for the Rams?

Is Ghaly right for the Rams?

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Hossam Ghaly has revealed that he is close to joining the Rams on a six-month loan deal, but stressed that the deal is yet to be finalized.

'Derby opened talks with me five days ago. My agent is negotiating with the club officials to reach a final agreement,' the Egyptian midfielder said.

The controversial player will come with a great deal of baggage, and his comment about the Rams doesn`t give the supporters much joy.

He said on an Egyptian web site: "Although Derby are struggling in the Premiership, it will be a good chance for me to play on a regular basis and prove my worth before joining a bigger club.

'It will be a loan deal because I fear Derby may fail to secure league safety this season.'

Is that the sort of player we want at Pride Park? Yes he is a talented player but he seems to be very temperamental and could be a bad influence within the side - just ask the Spurs supporters for their views?

Ghaly has been targeting a move away from Tottenham since falling out with manager Martin Jol following his angry reaction at being substituted in a Premiership game last season.

It seems now the 26-year-old has several options to consider before departing White Hart Lane

'My agent told me there are two other clubs interested in my services. In case one of these clubs table an official bid, I will consider it before choosing the best option,' he concluded.

What do you think? - Drop me a line or comment on this piece on the forum!!!!!

I think he is perfect for you guys. Please buy him outright and not a loan deal,a Mars bar and a packet of smarties should be enough to clinch the deal.

Reports that he fell out with martin jol are totally false. the truth is that after being substituted 37 monutes after coming on against blackburn last season he threw his shirt to the ground when leaving the pitch, though fans couls understand his frustration, the throwing of the shirt was an unforgivable act for spurs fans, this was the reason he was frozen out not any fall out, once his move to Birmingham he had nowhere to go as spurs had already brought in a replacement. Ghally has recently been playing back in Egypt and has reportedly been in excellent form. even if he is using you for the 6 mths, it should be viewed as a two way thing, dispite reports to the contery, Ghally is a 100% committed player who gave his all for spurs on the pitch, including playing on dispite having 4 front teeth kicked out against portsmouth last season. I would suggest that he would be a worthwhile deal for you, he is a versatile player probably best suited as a box-box CM, last season he scored 4 or 5 goals with similar assists in possibly 20 starts. I would look to ignore his comments, which perhaps were honest but tactless and the comments from some spurs fans who can not forgive the shirt throwing, for the spurs fans whould take a different tone if king or berbatov had thrown a shirt in a moments frustration.

I'm also Egyptian - and I would suggest his self-important attitude and lack of tact suggests that this would be a poor signing for any club. You can have any deal of talent - but if you act and play as an individual - it can do more harm than good. Despite his 'commitment' (which I question) on the pitch - I saw him as no more than an average player who had flashes of skill all too rarely. Also the fact that he's using Derby to put himself in the shop window - how much of his heart is actually at the club? Too many Egyptian players are prima donnas - Ghaly, Mido - it's frankly embarassing...

I quite liked Ghaly when he played for us last year actually. Skillfull and a determined player, who had more assist than any other player in our team. He lost the ball a little to easy sometimes with trying those difficult passes. But he was played out on the wing all the time and had he played in the centre more, and been nurtured as one, he would be excellent! That's my opinion! But when you throw the shirt to the ground in front of a full packed White Hart Lane, you can't exactly become a Spurs fan-favourite can you!

martin I agree. Ghally never had a run of games to establish himself full stop let alone in his favoures CM role, as for the Prima donna Image, he never gave that impression whilst at spurs, infact having a reputation quite the opposite.

Another decent player ruined by the substandard coaching and man management at No Heart Lane, not surprised he threw their shirt away in disgust - should've flanneled his arse with it beforehand though.

Ghaly is a very talented and sincere player. He did very well in most of the games he played with spurs last season and played while losing four of his teeth in an incridible manner. But some of spurs fans couldn't forget the shirt throwing incident although it was an expected reaction in such a situation.

Even he was a good, loyal, hardworker player but we (spursfans) can't forget when he threw his shirt in WHL. so the guy has no future with us. so sign him he will help you guys.
