Huddlestone in Rams sights?

Huddlestone in Rams sights?

It`s been reported in today`s press that Rams boss Billy Davies is too target former Rams midfielder Tom Huddlestone in the January transfer window.

In today`s Sun newspaper it said Huddlestone would be targeted to fill the midfield gap, and he would be one of many new faces at Pride Park.

He played 88 games for the Rams from 2002-05 but he didn`t trouble the scoreboard, something the Rams need to get their season up and running. He joined Spurs in 2005 for a bargain £600,000 with possible add-ons taking the fee to around £2.5 million.

He went to Championship Wolves in 2005 and came to Pride Park with the midlands side and scored, rubbing the salt in the Rams wounds. Their was a supporter backlash when Huddlestone was allowed to join Spurs and it also upset then coach George Burley who resigned later in the season.

The midfielder has played 31 games for the White Hart Lane side and with new Coach Juande Ramos joining from Sevilla, Huddlestone may be let go. He has played 22 times for the England under 21`s and will be priced around £4 million and he would give an edge to the Rams midfield and could play at the centre of defence if required.

Its only 56 day`s to go till the transfer window opens and the Rams will be linked to a number of players, Vital Derby will try and bring you the rumours and facts up to then.

Who do you the fans want to bring into the Rams? Drop me a line.

I am sure that Pearson will be scouting about with all of his contacts looking to spend in January. Its the only way to be honest if you are to have any chance of staying up this season.

You could certainly do with someone of Huddlestone strength in the midfield. Will he be prepared to join if you are cast adrift at the bottom by January?

Looked a good prospect at Spurs a couple of years back but doesnt seem to have progressed as they hoped. Could do well as a big fish in a small pond for you though.
