The Rams not only suffered defeat in East Anglia on Saturday, but lost keeper Stephen Bywater, with a straight red card meaning an automatic two match ban and the clash on the pitch as the pair were leaving it could be more.
Lee Grant replaced him in between the sticks and performed admirably, but who is the back up for the Rams push to promotion?
Reports today say that Billy Davies will recall Lee Camp from his loan spell at Queens Park Rangers to cover the goalkeeping spot. The England under-21 keeper has been in fine form for the Lofus Road side, and he would be the favoured choice for the Rams, unless Davies has another goalkeeper in mind on loan?
Bywater could be in more trouble after Saturday`s clash with Town`s Alex Bruce. Officers from both Suffolk and Derbyshire police forces spoke to him following the incident.
Bywater and Town defender Alex Bruce were both sent off for violent conduct but it is an incident that occurred soon after the sending off which it is believed the police wished to speak to him about.
While Alex Bruce was leaving pitch and heading towards the tunnel Bywater, who had also been shown a red card by this time, charged at him and the pair had to be separated by stewards. The FA will also have a close look at the incident, and also the incident involving Rams boss Davies, who himself was sent to the stands.
Davies has another incident still waiting to be resolved from earlier in the season, and it`s not what the Rams boss needs at this important time of the season.
