Oakwell 'sold out' sign up for Rams

When the Rams return from the international break next weekend they will be backed by 7,400 fans at Oakwell for the Championship clash against Barnsley, after all tickets for the game sold out today.

Barnsley average home league crowd this season is 12,087 and it will swell at the weekend with the Rams in town. In their last home game against Sunderland, the Black Cats took 7,800 to Oakwell, but the Tykes have increased the amount of segregation between home and away fans and there will be no more tickets available to Rams supporters.

The crowd for the Sunderland game was 18,207, but the best gate of the season was for the Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday which attracted 21,253, and Tykes hope to push that figure this weekend.

Rams boss Billy Davies is delighted the Rams fans will give his side a magnificent boost in their promotion run in. He said: 'The atmosphere our supporters have generated at away games has been tremendous all season.
'The Barnsley game is really something for the players to look forward to. To take 7,400 fans to an away ground is a phenomenal response from our loyal supporters.'
