Rams Chaplin in full song

Rams Chaplin in full song

They say football is just a game, but to some it`s a religion. That is so for a number of Derby County supporters, and it`s differently so for club chaplain Tony Luke, who is ready to add his voice to the Roar on the Rams campaign.

The 'Singing Vicar' as he is known will lead the way before home games by picking up the microphone and singing 'Steve Bloomer's watching' on the Pride Park pitch before kick-off.

'I think the Steve Bloomer's watching song could do with a bit more oomph as half the people in the stands have blank faces when it's being played,' said Luke.
'I read in the paper about the campaign looking for bands to play the song and thought I could do my bit too.
'I think the atmosphere at Pride Park Stadium has improved a lot in the last few months and the Roar on the Rams campaign could be VITAL in helping the team get promotion.
'I have been a Derby County fan since I was 12 and I am very optimistic that we can achieve promotion.
'We have moved forward a lot further than many people expected and these are very exciting times.
'The Derby manager Billy Davies said there are no easy games left and he is absolutely right. The next home match against Coventry City on Easter Monday is going to be tough and the players are going to need full backing.'

The Rams Chaplin is known as the 'Singing Vicar' following television appearances on the X Factor
