'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Get behind the Rams battle cry

The Rams battle cry as they enter the most important stage of the Championship campaign will by Steve Bloomer theme. That`s according to Alan Clarke, who is ready to make himself heard in the 'Roar on the Rams' campaign.

"It's great hearing the crowd sing 'Steve Bloomer's Watching' before a game but it would be better if the whole of the stadium joined in rather than the odd one or two people - then we can really raise the roof off Pride Park." said Clarke.

"There was always such a great atmosphere at the old Baseball Ground while Pride Park Stadium doesn't tend to carry the noise all the way through.

"Now is the time to sing out, show our support for Billy and the boys and Roar on the Rams."

The Robert Lindsey song is a re-make of the great Australian song - ' Up There Cazaly` which is an Australian sporting catchphrase inspired by former St Kilda and South Melbourne great Roy Cazaly who was a champion Australian rules footballer of the early 20th Century, noted for his high-flying marks in a time when Australia was involved in war.

The expression later became the basis of a song recorded and composed by Mike Brady. The song was recorded in 1979, and has entered Australian folklore as a song synonymous with the sport of Australian rules football, and has been a feature as part of the pre/post-match entertainment of many VFL/AFL Grand Finals.

If the song helps the Rams back to the Premiership, then all the Rams fans all over the world will be singing - Steve Bloomer's watchin', helping the fight, guiding our heroes, In the black and the white. All teams who come here, there's nowhere to hide, everyone is frightened, of that Derby pride.
Come on you Rams!!!!!!!
