Rams have Reggae Boyz bid rejected

Rams boss Billy Davies has had a bid for Bradford City`s Jamaican winger Jermaine Johnson turned down, as he continues to strengthen his squad. A bid of £250,000 was rejected by the Bantams for the 26-year-old and their chairman Julian Rhodes said: 'There have been a number of scouts watching Jermaine.
'The only official contact we have had so far has come from Derby but they did not meet our valuation of him.'

Johnson joined Bradford from Bolton Wanderers in June 2006 after a loan spell with Oldham Athletic. He started his career in England at Bolton and made his debut during the 2001-02 season, spending that season and the 2002-03 season at the club but only started ten times for the Premiership side. After his spell at the Reebok he then moved to Oldham Athletic spending the next two seasons there making 34 appearances and scoring 10 goals.

He joined Bradford in June 2006 and has made 29 appearances for the Bantams but the City boss, former Rams great Colin Todd, has warned that the cash-strapped club could be forced to accept an offer if it matches his valuation. Todd said: "One of the reasons I brought him in is that he has ability and he is going to attract a lot of attention.
'At this club it's fair to say that if any offers come in, and they are the right offers, then they have to be taken."

Bradford City sit 12th in League One at present and Johnson has been a revelation after being handed a permanent contract by Todd earlier in the season. He has 40 international caps for Jamaica and has scored 5 goals
