Smith puts the record straight

Smith said: 'As I've said, I'm happy at Derby and playing some of the best football of my career.'

'They asked about me when I left Sunderland but there was nothing concrete at the time.

'Derby did come in and I was more than pleased to come here.

'It is always nice to be linked with other teams that are doing well but all I'm looking forward to is working hard, doing as well as I can and helping Derby to climb the table.'
