McClaren - Derby Improving

Head Coach Steve McClaren believes his Derby County side are getting closer to where they need to be after their victory over Notts County before moving on to their trip to Austria.

With the new season less than three weeks away where The Rams take on Rotherham United on opening day their preparations are hitting a vital stage with the trip to Burgenland being used to work on fitness alongside two further friendlies. After the 3-1 victory at Meadow Lane which saw Chris Martin claim a hat-trick McClaren told dcfc.co.uk:

"We`re improving with every game and getting to where we want to be. Today was another test for us and another good workout. Chris Martin took his goals really well - he should have scored early on as well from the best move of the game - but he took all three superbly."
