Dawkins Happy To Be Settled

Simon Dawkins made his switch to the iPro Stadium permanent on Monday and he is happy to have found a permanent home following a number of loan spells during his career so far.

The former Tottenham Hotspur Academy graduate has spent loan spells with Leyton Orient as well as two spells with the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS and Aston Villa before Steve McClaren brought the forward to Derby County in October. Since then Dawkins has made 14 appearances scoring 3 goals and has done enough for The Rams` Head Coach to make him his first permanent signing on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the deal Dawkins said:

"I am really, really happy. I am happy to find a home and feel settled somewhere where I can progress. I am working under a great Head Coach in Steve McClaren, so hopefully he can get the best out of me and I can repay the faith he has shown in me. It was a very easy decision to make because the last three months have been fantastic. I can only see myself getting better here and I am really happy to be working with everyone at the club."
