Russell Out With Fractured Cheekbone

Johnny Russell missed the defeat to Chelsea at the weekend and will spend a spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery for a fractured cheekbone he picked up against Wigan Athletic on New Year`s Day.

No official statement has been made in relation to the length of time the former Dundee United striker will be out for and he has only recently returned from time out with the broken leg that he picked up earlier this season. Russell has scored five goals since his summer move to the iPro Stadium and having forced his way back into the reckoning for a start in the cup tie against Premiership opposition on Sunday he will hope to be back in action soon.
