Evans Is New Head Of Football Operations

Chris Evans has been appointed as Head of Football Operations at Pride Park to help Head Coach Steve McClaren and his management team with off field matters.

The newly created role will have a focus on recruitment, management of the scouting system and providing operational support to McClaren. The process to bring in Evans has been underway since the former England manager was appointed as The Rams` head coach in . Evans has previously worked at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday since hanging up his boots in various roles including Coaching, Head of Recruitment, Academy Manager, Performance Director, Assistant Manager and Caretaker Manager. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the appointment Chief Executive Sam Rush said:

"It has been a very instructive period working with Steve and identifying the suitable candidate and the appropriate skill set for this role. I am very much looking forward to working with Chris in this key position at Derby County Football Club. He brings a wealth of experience and contacts with him and we believe this appointment significantly strengthens our football operations group."
