Coutts Out Until Christmas

Paul Coutts is set to spend an extended spell on the sidelines after dislocating his kneecap in the 2-1 defeat to Leicester City and undergoing surgery yesterday.

After undergoing a scan to learn the full extent of the injury surgery was scheduled and it is expected the former Preston North End midfielder will be out until after Christmas. With Jeff Hendrick already out Nigel Clough may look to the loan market with rumours already linking him to Marc Albrighton of Aston Villa. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the injury Clough said:

"It`s a big blow for Paul, first and foremost, or ourselves as he was chomping at the bit to get into the side on a more regular basis. Paul also provided options for us across midfield for us so it`s bitterly disappointing to lose him for quite a while."
