Eustace Training With Rams

Former loanee John Eustace is training with Derby County after his release by Watford with Nigel Clough seeing his experience as a potential addition to the squad.

Eustace spent time at Pride Park in the 2008/09 season making nine appearances and scoring one goal and Clough had previously targeted the midfielder to bring him back to the club but he remained a Watford player. Clough sees the experience gained from nearly 400 career games and his versatility as something worth looking at after his release by Watford this summer, the Vicarage Road club reportedly offered him a coaching role but Eustace does not see his playing days as over just yet. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the former Coventry City player Clough said:

"He can play as a holding midfielder or even at centre-half, which would be ideal in terms of what we`re looking for because there aren`t too many of his type around. We`ll sit down and have a chat with John either later this week or early next week and get his views on how he sees things developing. John is someone we`ve liked for quite a while and he`s got a lot of experience to offer, so we`re interested in seeing if we can explore things a bit further."
