Fielding Joins Bristol City

Frank Fielding has joined League One side Bristol City for an undisclosed fee and he has out pen to paper on a three year deal.

Fielding moved to Pride Park in May 2011 after two successful loan spells in the preceding season and was immediately made first choice. He was virtually ever present in his first season but in the following campaign after an injury saw Adam Legzdins take his place he could not re-establish himself in the side and only made a total of seventeen starts. When Lee Grant returned to the club on a free transfer from Burnley Nigel Clough made it clear that he would become first choice and that he would be willing to listen to offers for the former England Under-21 international. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the transfer Clough said:

"Frank leaves with our very best wishes. The opportunity to sign Lee was too good to turn down, and combined with Frank`s desire to play first-team football, a place on the substitutes` bench next season would have been difficult for him."
