Hughes Earns Second Cap

Will Hughes earned his second cap for the England Under-21s in their 4-0 victory against Sweden at the Banks` Stadium after coming on as a second half substitute.

Hughes won his first cap last November as a substitute in the 2-0 win over Northern Ireland and again came off the bench in place of Jordan Henderson in Walsall last night. The Derby midfielder was a like for like replacement and fitted straight into the centre of midfield after coming on halftime. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about his appearance Hughes said:

'It is a great experience playing with lads who play in the Premier League, some week in, week out, and I am enjoying it. It was 3-0 when I came on, and it is always nice to be part of a win. Hopefully, I have done enough to be named in the next squad. The last two games have given me a lift."
