Hughes Will Bounce Back

Nigel Clough believes Will Hughes will recover from his recent dip in form and has backed the 17-year-old midfielder to get back to his best before long.

Hughes has been a regular in the first-team so far this season putting in the sort of performances that have had him on the radar of a number of top Premiership sides. The midfielder has been carrying a few knocks over the Christmas period and the number of games in a short period of time along with the expectations on his young shoulders appear to have caught up with him a little with below par performances against Nottingham Forest and Blackburn Rovers in The Rams last two outings. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about Hughes` form Clough said:

'We have to remember that he is only 17 and it is his first season. He has had a couple of slightly below-par games and we will have a chat to him this week and see how he goes. He has had an incredible six months. We have been astounded how well he has played for such a large part of the season. Will is trying his socks off but it is just not happening for him at the moment."
