Clough: Put Cup Defeat Behind Us

Nigel Clough wants his Derby County side to the put the disappointment of their cup defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers behind them and concentrate on finding their form again after the 0-3 reverse at Pride Park.

The Rams bowed out of the FA Cup with a lacklustre display against the Lancashire side, failing to really test goalkeeper Jake Kean in the whole of the ninety minutes, and Clough knows his side need to be back to their best in order to push on from their current mid-table position in the Championship. Having been held to a 1-1 draw in their last league outing after another frustrating display against Nottingham Forest The Rams are looking to get back to the high-tempo they usually set at home where they are at their best taking the game to the opposition.

Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the defeat to Blackburn and the disappointing performance his young side put in Clough said:

"They were up against international players and sometimes they will learn more from a defeat than they would from a victory, especially in both penalty areas. All our efforts now are focused towards the remaining games of the season now and maintaining what has been a reasonable campaign so far. The Huddersfield game can`t come around quick enough and we`re all looking forward to it already."
