Youngsters Earn Under-21 Call

Two of Derby County`s young players have earned call-ups for the country ahead of the upcoming round of Under-21 friendlies with Mark O`Brien and Kieron Freeman having both been named in their respective squads.

Freeman moved to Pride Park this summer after leaving Nottingham Forest and he has made seven first team appearances for The Rams this season. He has been called up to the Wales Under-21 squad for their clash with Iceland in Llanelli on Wednesday, February 6th and hopes to add to his collection of caps after having previously represented his country six times at this level.

O`Brien has returned to The Rams starting line-up this season after a cruciate ligament injury and has started the last four matches including the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday that extended his sides undefeated run to four matches against their local rivals. Republic of Ireland Under-21 manager Noel King has named the defender in his squad for their match against the Netherlands in Dublin on the same day.
