Hughes Claims Award

Will Hughes amazing season got even better last week when he was named the Football League Young Player of the Month for November.

Hughes broke into the side at the start of this season and has been one of the first names on the team sheet ever since and he started all six of The Rams` games in November as well as scoring in the defeat at Millwall and making his England Under-21debut against Northern Ireland. Recent speculation has linked the 17-year-old with a number of big clubs, reportedly including Barcelona, and The Rams have made it clear they want to keep hold of the talented youngster. Talking about the award Hughes said:

'I'm extremely proud to receive this award and a little bit shocked to be honest, especially when you look at the names that have claimed it in the past. I'd like to thank the manager and his coaching staff for showing faith in me and also my team-mates as well, because there's a real team ethos around the place and that has been so important for me making the step up to the first team squad.'
