Hughes Signs New Deal

Will Hughes has signed a new deal that will keep him at Pride Park until the summer of 2015 and has spoken of his delight at finding himself a regular in the first-team so far this season.

The 17-year-old midfielder made his debut in the last home game of the previous campaign against Peterborough United and Nigel Clough said he would be around the first-team squad this season. Having impressed in pre-season Hughes has found himself in the starting lineup and he has played in all 12 games so far this season for The Rams. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the new deal Hughes said:

"I signed my new deal at the weekend which I am delighted with. I could not have asked for anything better and I am glad to get things tied up. Playing Championship football feels a bit surreal to be honest, but I think the more I play, the more I will get used to it. I am really enjoying playing and I'll just keep enjoying every moment that I'm with the squad."
