Idiakez set for Southampton

Sky Sports News has reported that Derby County midfielder Inigo Idiakez is undergoing a medical at Southampton with a view to a permanent transfer.

The fee for the 33 year old is believed to be in the region of 300,000.

The move will reunite Idiakez with the man who signed him for Derby, George Burley, as well as fellow ex-Ram Gregorsz Rasiak.

Idiakez hasn't really shown the form of 2004/2005 in the last year aside from his free kicks and, bearing in mind his age, this represents a sensible move for all parties.

Meanwhile, Derby boss Billy Davies has confirmed his interest in Portsmouth defender Andy O'Brien and is expecting to see more 'ins and outs' before the midnight transfer deadline.

you must get sick and tired of selling your top players, it looks like a very hard season for you and it won't get much better when you visit Belle Vue in a few weeks time. Looking forward to the return of big Darren though he will definitely get a good reception.
