International Call-Ups For Trio

International Call-Ups For Trio

Jamie Ward and Jeff Hendrick will miss Derby County's Capital One League Cup 1st Round clash with Scunthorpe United as they are away on international duty. There has also been a call-up to the England Under-17 squad later in the month for striker Mason Bennett.

Ward has been name in a 23 man squad for Northern Ireland's friendly with Finland to be held at Windsor Park in Belfast on Wednesday August 15th whilst Hendrick is part of the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their European Under -21qualifier against Turkey in Sligo on Tuesday August 14th meaning they will both be unavailable for the encounter with the League Two side on Tuesday. However, Hendrick may yet miss out on the squad following a wrist injury picked up in the 3-1 friendly defeat to Chesterfield on Saturday.

Mason Bennett, the youngest player ever to make an appearance for The Rams' first team, has been named in the squad for the St George's Park International Tournament in which England Under-17's take on Italy, Portugal and Turkey in a series of games that run from 29th August to 2nd September. The striker has been heavily involved in the pre-season buildup for Derby this summer and scored in the 4-3 friendly win at Northampton Town earlier this month.
