Clough Backs Jacobs To Shine

Nigel Clough has backed new signing Michael Jacobs to be a hit at Pride Park and has been impressed with the start the youngster has made since he joined from Northampton Town last month.

Jacbos is a wide midfielder who can play either side of the park and earned player of the season awards during both of his full seasons at the Sixfields Stadium before joining The Rams for an undisclosed fee and he is eager to prove himself at a higher level. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about the youngster Clough said:

'Michael is very comfortable receiving the ball. He is a wide player but he doesn't just hug the touchline, he comes inside as well. We have been delighted with what we have seen from him so far. He does not look out of place on the training ground. When you bring in new players, the established players take a close look and I think they have been impressed.
