Clough Targetting Sammon?

With Nigel Clough looking to bolster Derby County's attacking options following the departure of Chris Maguire and with Steve Davies almost certain to leave the club rumours have surfaced that he has turned his attention back to a player that he nearly brought to Pride Park eighteen months ago.

At the time Conor Sammon was in the middle of his most productive season having scored 18 goals in 27 appearances for Kilmarnock in the SPL and having turned down a move to Scunthorpe United the former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international instead opted to move to Premiership Wigan Athletic rather than join the The Rams.

Eighteen months on however having failed to pin down a regular spot in the starting line-up for Roberto Martinez's side the striker is reportedly again a target for Clough with a season long loan appearing to be the option being looked into.
