Derby Face Scunthorpe

Derby County have been drawn at home to League One Scunthorpe United in the first round of the newly renamed Capital One Cup. The Rams have gone out of the competition in the first round in each of the last three seasons to lower league clubs despite having reached the semi-final stage and beating Manchester United the previous season. Talking about the draw to dcfc.co.uk The Rams` rightback John Brayford said:

"We've not had the best of times in the League Cup since I've been here, so I would imagine there will be a real determination around the squad to ensure our fortunes change. Scunthorpe were in the Championship only a few seasons ago and they'll be tough opponents when we face them in August, so we need to make sure we're on our game when the tie comes around and we don't take them lightly."
