Bailey Moving On?

James Bailey may be on his way out of Pride Park with Nigel Clough admitting that the club are willing to listen to offers for the former Crewe Alexandra midfielder in order to shake up his squad ahead of next season. Bailey was named Young Player of the Year after a successful first season at Pride Park after joining in the summer of 2010 but injuries meant he lost at place at the start of last season and the form of Jeff Hendrick and Craig Bryson has meant his chances have been limited after returning to fitness this year. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about Bailey`s situation Nigel Clough said:

'I think given his contract situation coupled with the emergence of the central midfield two, Craig Bryson and Jeff Hendrick, we will listen to offers for him, if it is right. Craig and Jeff have nailed down the two positions in central midfield at the moment and it shows the improvement we have made. James played pretty much all of the first season he was here and some of the first half of this season. Injuries have set him back but the other two have played better.'
