Bryson In Scotland Squad
Player of the year Craig Bryson has earned a call up to the Scotland squad for their upcoming friendly against the USA in Jacksonville on 26th May. The midfielder has one full cap to his name already having made his debut against the Faroe Islands in November 2010 and has also represented his country at Under-19 and 21 levels. Bryson has gone on record stating that his move to Pride Park, where he had a memorable first season, has helped to get him noticed by manager Craig Levein and he is looking forward to the possibility of adding to his previous cap telling dcfc.co.uk:
'For me, being selected for my country shows a sign of real progression and I am absolutely delighted to be called into the Scotland squad. As a player, I want to test myself at the highest possible level and being called up for international duty allows me to do just that.
I have said in numerous other interviews that when I first arrived, my initial target was to make the step-up from the SPL to the Championship, and just play in as many games as possible. But the call-up definitely tops it all off; it has been a brilliant first season with the club and proves coming to Derby County was the best thing for my career.'
