Brayford Signs New Deal

John Brayford has pen to paper on a new deal until the summer of 2014 as The Rams look to reward him for a remarkable first season in a Derby shirt where he played in every game and earned supporters` and players` player of the year awards. Having initially signed a three year deal Nigel Clough has decided that his form deserved a new deal and Brayford was happy to commit his future to Pride Park. Clough`s assistant Johnny Metgod believes the deal is well deserved and told dcfc.co.uk:

'He has done really, really well in every department of his game and he deserves his new contract. I think he can still improve and get better, but if he maintains the standard he set last season we will be delighted.'

'The best way to describe it is that John Brayford will only catch the spotlight when he isn't 'at it' because the level he normally produces is remarkable and you don't expect anything less."
