Rams Bring In Kilbane

Derby County have signed Kevin Kilbane on a loan deal until Christmas to add experience and some versatility to the squad. Kilbane`s career started with West Bromwich Albion and has also taken in spells at Sunderland, Everton, Wigan Athletic and Hull City as well as racking up 110 caps for the Republic of Ireland and is currently their second most capped player.

Kilbane, who can play on the left side of midfield or defence, spent a large part of last season out on loan at Huddersfield Town in their ultimately unsuccessful promotion campaign and with his first team prospects looking limited after returning to Hull Nigel Clough has acted to add him to the squad. Talking to dcfc.co.uk Clough said:

"Kevin brings with him a wealth of experience, as well as the ability to play in a variety of positions. He is an international footballer, so first and foremost it is exciting for us to attract another player of that ilk to Derby County. We believe he will be a welcome addition to our squad and given the type of character and player he is, we have no doubt he will do a good job for us.'
