Fielding Raring To Go

Frank Fielding is back and raring to go ahead of the first friendly of the pre-season period against Burton Albion tomorrow. Having been away with the England Under-21 squad for their ultimately disappointing campaign in the European Championships Fielding was given an extra week off but returned to training last week and has enjoyed being back in the thick of things with his new side now his move from Blackburn Rovers has been made permanent. Having penned a three-year deal before going away on international duty Fielding has now returned and is looking forward to the new season telling dcfc.co.uk:

"It's great to be back. I'm fully refreshed after the summer now and I'm ready to get going again. It feels like an age ago since I actually signed, so at last I can't wait to get back into the routine of training. It has been good to catch up with the lads and also meet the new faces. There's a good atmosphere around the place as well which is really positive, and you can also see everyone is itching to get back to playing games.'
