Addison Pens New Deal

Miles Addison has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2013 as The Rams look to tie down his future. After missing much of the last eighteen months with a problem with his foot that required an operation and help from a specialist in the US the youngster fought his way towards fitness and was active in the squad in the final few matches of the season without getting large amount of playing time.

Rumours had surfaced recently that Addison may be loaned out to gain some match fitness with Barnsley mooted as a potential destination as part of the deal to bring Jason Shackell to the club. Whilst there have been no further comments on this deal The Rams have acted quickly to give him an extended deal. Chief Executive Tom Glick spoke of the youngster`s potential being the reason behind the new deal telling dcfc.co.uk:

'Miles has shown great character in the last few seasons to recover from his foot injury. Prior to that he was a player recognised with great potential and had just been capped by England under 21s. We have extended Miles' contract because we believe as he gets his match fitness back he will again show that he can be a force in this division, and even higher.'
