Maguire Agrees Terms
Chris Maguire has agreed terms on a three year deal to join Derby County and has passed a medical at Pride Park leaving only the matter of compensation to be agreed between the two clubs. Maguire scored 12 goals in 44 appearances for Aberdeen last season and earned his second senior cap for Scotland last Sunday after coming on as a 75th minute substitute during the Nations Cup defeat to the Republic of Ireland. The Dons are believed to want around £400,000 for the player with The Rams not yet meeting the figure but Aberdeen director of football Willie Miller is determined that the club will get their price telling a press conference:
'We will take our fight for compensation to the very highest level if we have to. Efforts are continuing in the hope of persuading Derby County to agree to pay the compensation fee due in accordance with the guidelines laid down by UEFA. But if we are forced to go to a tribunal we will make every effort possible to protect our interests and the interests of Scottish football. We will ask the SPL and the SFA to give us their full support to ensure that Derby are made to pay what they are due.'
