Ben Pringle has joined League Two side Rotherham United after completing a medical and agreeing a two year deal with the South Yorkshire side. Pringle joined The Rams from Ilkeston Town in the summer of 2009 and has captained the reserve side to two consecutive totesport.com Central Division titles but his first team opportunities were restricted and he started only seven games in two seasons with a further sixteen appearances from the bench. The youngster spent time on loan at Torquay United at the backend of last season making five starts and despite returning to Pride Park to fight for his place he was told he could leave the club during the summer. Having had offers from a couple of clubs Pringle decided on a switch to Rotherham and told the South Yorkshire Times:
"I spent two years at Derby and played a few games but I needed to play more. The Gaffer sold this club to me. I want to play as many games as I can and that is the main reason I`ve signed. It`s an up and coming club with a new stadium on the way.
"The manager told me he wanted me to play so it`s always nice to go somewhere you`re wanted so that was the main factor for my decision. I still had a year left at Derby so I could have stayed there but I spent two seasons trying to break into the side but for whatever reason it hasn`t worked out. To come here and play is something I`m really looking forward to."
