Ben Davies believes he is yet to show his best form in a Derby County shirt and wants to show the fans what he is capable of next season and repay the faith shown in him by manager Nigel Clough when bringing him to Pride Park. Davies was touted as a deadball specialist when he joined The Rams from Notts County in the January transfer window but he struggled for form during an early run in the side and was named on the bench for a run of games. He was brought back into the side towards the end of the season and scored an absolute screamer to give his side all three points as they beat Leeds United 2-1 at Pride Park. Davies enjoyed an improvement in form following the goal as he got a few more games under his belt and he told dcfc.co.uk that he is looking forward to showing what he is capable of next season:
'Next season is a big season for me, and for Derby, I want to come back fit, flying, scoring goals and producing for the team on a regular basis. I want to be part of something here, and it is a big season.'
'I didn't produce my best early on, but I think I improved as time went on, I think I was trying too hard to impress and repay the manager. The spell out the team did me good and I think I showed what I could do in the Coventry and Leeds games. I settled down a bit more and tried to be a bit calmer on the ball. The Leeds game was a big relief and I want to enjoy more moments like that next season.'
