Rams Capture Fielding and Ward

Derby County have acted quickly to announce the signings of Jamie Ward and Frank Fielding with a fee having also been agreed for the capture of Theo Robinson from Millwall with his deal expected to be completed on 1st July. Fielding has agreed a three year deal with Ward and Robinson having signed for two years with the option for a third. Speaking to the official website about the deals Nigel Clough stated:

'We see them all as big parts of our future. We have stated our desire to keep Frank, Jamie and Theo for some time, so it is nice to be in a position now where we can confirm they will be part of our future.

All three of them had been on our radar before they even joined us. We've managed to get three of our long-term targets tied down very early in the summer, which is a massive bonus.

I don't need to explain what they are all about, they have done that on the pitch and we see them all as big parts of our future.'

Fielding made sixteen appearances for The Rams during two loan spells at Pride Park during the season and has been training with his new teammates after his second spell expired ahead of his anticipated summer move. Ward scored five goals during his loan spell which has now been turned into a permanent deal with Robinson scoring twice having been used off the bench for a spell with Clough judging his contribution to be worthy of a deal.
