Green Adds Ninth Cap

Paul Green played ninety minutes in the Republic of Ireland`s 3-2 defeat at home to Uruguay last night to earn his ninth cap and make up for the disappointment of missing out on their European Championship qualifying victory over Macedonia at the weekend. Goals from Diego Lugano and Shane Long cancelled each other out before Edinson Cavani and Abel Hernandez scored to put Uruguay 3-1 ahead at the break. Keith Fahey pulled a goal back in the second half but they couldn`t find an equaliser. In other international news Derby scholar Kealan Dillon had a watching brief for the Republic of Ireland`s under-17 side as he was named as a substitute as they completed their qualifying campaign with a 4-1 victory against Latvia.
