'If It's Football, It's Vital'

International Roundup

Daniel Ayala and Paul Green had mixed fortunes over the weekend whilst away with their respective national sides. Ayala made his debut for the Spanish under-21`s in their 3-2 friendly defeat against France and played the full ninety minutes although he will not take part on their friendly with Macedonia on Monday evening as an entirely new squad has been selected for the game. Green missed out on the match day squad for Republic of Ireland as they beat Macedonia 2-1 to move joint top of their qualifying group for the European Championships. Explaining his decision to include Darron Gibson in place of the Derby man manager Giovanni Trappatoni told reporters:

'Against opponents who are more technical and creative, Paul Green may be more suited because he is very aggressive. But in this game, we will have a lot of space until we get to the edge of the box and I have told Gibson to shoot whenever he can.

It will be very difficult to work our way into the box and shooting from outside the box is a good option for us. That is the reason why Gibson and not Paul Green is starting.'

Vital Derby is now available on both facebook and twitter, so if you are that way inclined and more importantly understand all this new fangled dangled stuff, feel free to watch us, poke us or whatever else you are meant to do there!
