Nigel Clough has reacted to Derby County`s goalkeeping crisis by bringing Frank Fielding back to the club on loan for the rest of the season beating off competition from a number of interested parties. After Saul Deeney was ruled out for three months with a shoulder injury and Stephen Bywater was forced off against Hull City with a back problem the options were a little thin in the ground for The Rams. With Ross Atkins being recalled from a loan spell Fielding has also been brought back for his second spell at the club this season and will remain at Pride Park for the final stages of the season. Speaking of the deal Clough told dcfc.co.uk:
'We are delighted to have brought Frank back to the Club and he will go straight into the team for Saturday. We know all about Frank and he knows about us, so it's an obvious choice and we are pleased to have got this one over the line as there were a number of other Championship teams who wanted to take him."
Fielding has been named on the bench a couple of times since returning to Ewood Park in December but he has found himself third-choice to Paul Robinson and Mark Bunn and jumped at the chance of returning to Pride Park. Speaking of his return to Derby Fielding told the official site:
'I didn't need much persuading to come back because I had a great time here before, and the set-up is probably the best outside the Premiership. It will be easy to settle in because I know everyone around the place, other than one or two new faces. I haven't had any game time since I went back to Blackburn, so I'm dying to play regularly again.'
