Paul Green has been named in Republic of Ireland`s provisional squad for their Carling Nations Cup encounter with Wales at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Tuesday 8th February. Green has been capped seven times by Ireland since being called up to their squad last May by Giovanni Trapattoni. The Italian spoke of the upcoming encounter in his official press conference saying:
'I am looking forward to the opening game of the Carling Nations Cup against Wales. This competition provides our players with familiar and tough opponents and the added competitive edge to the tournament is the perfect preparation for our EURO qualifying campaign. '
