Commons' Contract And The Return Of Addison
Kris Commons insists he still wants to stay at Pride Park despite rumours this week linking him with a move north of the border to Celtic. All parties concerned insist talks are still ongoing and Nigel Clough has stated he is willing to wait for a deal to be signed even if it takes until the summer. In a recent interview with Radio Derby Commons suggested that Clough was keen for him to sign and that maybe the issue was with the board and the contract being offered stating:
'There's been stuff going on for a good two or three months now, but I have no control over that. I think Nigel has been badgering the owners to get a contract written up and he says he is desperate for me to sign it."
'To have a manager who wants you that badly and to have a player who wants to stay that much you'd think they would be able to sort something out but we're just waiting to hear and see.'
In other news Miles Addison looks set to return to the squad over the Christmas period after successfully recovering from the surgery to remove the screws from the foot he fractured last season. He is set to return to training this week and Clough told the official website:
'Miles should start training this week and, out of necessity more than anything, we will look to get him on the bench."
