Young Strikers In The News

There has been positive news involving two of Derby County`s young attacking players this week with Luke Moore having his loan extended until the end of the year and stories that the Polish national team have had Tomasz Cywka watched after this recent fine run of form in the side. Moore initially came on loan from The Hawthorns for a month with was then extended to another thirty days but then suffered from injuries and was missing for a couple of weeks. He has recently returned to the side and has started the last two matches scoring against Scunthorpe at the weekend, his second of his loan spell. Nigel Clough has acted to extend his loan until the end of the year and is looking to extend this again when the transfer window opens in January, talking to the official website the Rams` manager said:

'Luke has come into the club and been a breath of fresh air for us. He has worked exceptionally hard and we were delighted to see him score such a stunning goal against Scunthorpe. It is fantastic news he is staying on until the end of the year and we're confident he will continue to do a job for the team.'

Tomasz Cywka has impressed in his recent run in the side and, having represented Poland at Under 18, 19 and 21 levels, the current national setup are checking up on his form. Assistant manager Jacek Zielinski was reportedly at Pride Park to watch Cywka against Scunthorpe last Saturday and the young striker scored the first goal of the match with a fine finish in the opening stages. Clough sees no reason why Cywka should not be considered for selection and told the Derby Evening Telegraph:

'Tomasz scored a stunning goal against Scunthorpe and he is another of our young players who is just settling in and growing into the Championship. I don't know the strength of the Polish national set-up at the moment or the league in Poland but there are not too many young Polish players playing in England."
