Frank Fielding is set to plat his last game in a Derby shirt against Leicester City on Saturday with Stephen Bywater returning to full fitness and the expiry of his one month loan from Blackburn Rovers. Fielding has played an integral part in the recent run of results keeping three clean sheets in six games as The Rams pushed up to fourth in the table and he has enjoyed his time at Pride Park telling the Derby Evening Telegraph:
'It will be a shame to leave, because I've really enjoyed my time here, it's my last game this weekend and, hopefully, I can go out on a high. Stephen Bywater is a quality keeper and it's unfortunate that he got injured but it has given me a chance to come in and show what I can do and it should stand me in good stead for when I go back to Blackburn"
Nigel Clough was linked with a move for the young keeper over the summer and, although this did not materialise, he has been impressed with Fielding during his loan spell but with Bywater returning to fitness and looking set to regain his place in the side he looks set to not extend his deal commenting:
"We have been hugely impressed with Frank, he has fitted into the dressing room and the team. He made two wonderful saves at crucial times at Ipswich, the first at 1-0 and the other at 2-0. We are monitoring Stephen Bywater this week, he is back in full training and if his wrist is OK there might not be much point in keeping Frank."
