Rams Bring In Fielding

Rams Bring In Fielding

Derby County have reacted quickly to bring in a replacement for the injured Stephen Bywater with the news that Frank Fielding has joined on an initial month`s loan from Blackburn Rovers and looks set to make his debut against Preston North End tomorrow. Saul Deeney will be missing from the match day squad due to a family illness and Ross Atkins has been recalled form his loan at Tamworth to act as cover on Saturday. Speaking of his delight at the signing of the Under-21 International Nigel Clough told the official website:

"It is a real coup for us to bring Frank in, as he is currently the first-choice England under-21 goalkeeper and been sought after by quite a few clubs. He is a goalkeeper we've had our eye on for some time and we tried to bring him in last season, but the deal didn't materialise."

Fielding has spent time on loan at Wycombe, Northampton, Leeds and Rochdale during his fledgling career and has become first choice for the Under-21 side this season; he was also called into the full squad for the friendly against Hungary earlier this year after Ben Foster dropped out of the squad.
