Davies Interested In Derby Move
Nigel Clough recently admitted that reported transfer target Ben Davies was someone that he'd like to bring to Derby. An offer was made for Davies, however, Notts County turned this down.
The 29-year-old admits that he'd be interested in the move, as he wants to play in the Championship, however, the midfielder isn't about to go demanding a move as he still feels this is something he can do with Notts County.
"The Championship is the place I want to be and I believe that myself and most of the lads here can play in the Championship. There is no reason we can't be there ourselves next season.
It is flattering because Derby are a massive club but I'm not going to be banging on the manager's door asking for a move. No-one has said anything to me about it, so I will keep my head down and focus on playing for Notts and trying to do my best.
We've got an important game against Sheffield Wednesday (in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy) on Wednesday in a competition we want to do really well in."
Davies was talking to the Nottingham Post.
A rare show of loyalty from a footballer in an era where this isn't often the case with Davies believing that a contract, and he still has two-years left on this, is something to honour. However, if an acceptable offer is made it doesn't mean that he'll not leave Meadow Lane.
